 GERING - Dave Pauli, Activities Director for Gering Schools in 2011, has resigned to take the AD position at Scottsbluff. He will succeed the retiring Lee Dick. Pauli taught biology in Gering from 1994 – 1998 and coached basketball. He then went to Chadron State College as an assistant basketball coach while he worked on his master’s degree in educational administration. Prior to coming to Gering in 2011, Pauli was executive director of the Omaha Christian Academy. Announcing his resignation on April 26, Pauli said it was a tough decision because Gering parents and everyone in the schools had been so good to him. But he also he saw a lot of positives with a new position in Scottsbluff, so he applied when Dick retired. During the interview process, Pauli said he wanted to know how Scottsbluff was addressing its listing as a persistently low achieving school.
