Becky and Steve Thomlison enjoy gardening together.
Steve and Becki Thomlison began landscaping their yard at 1740 Laurel Avenue in Gering 24 years ago. Prior to that time, the yard included an abandoned dog kennel, a wormwood cedar fence, and a few saplings. Together they created a landscape plan. First, they implemented several scalloped flower beds. After those were developed, the Thomlisons designed a deck, screened in porch, and a unique driveway to enhance their creation.
Copper adorned archways were then built by their son in law, Casey York, to provide the perfect gateway into the Thomlison’s backyard paradise. A pond and waterfall were added several years ago.
Numerous mementos from 24 years of wedding anniversary trips adorn the yard. One of Becki’s favorite items is a water feature that Steve designed and built for the front patio to honor one of their anniversaries.
While Steve enjoys searching for and discovering oddities for their yard, Becki enjoys passing on her love of gardening to friends, family, and especially, to her grandchildren.
Steve and Becki have, and continue, to work very hard in making their yard a showplace.
