Diving has been halted in the search for a missing Mitchell man, 37-year-old Chris Miller, who went missing from a boat Sunday at Lake Minatare. Park Superintendent Dan Thornton referred to search activity as a recovery operation today.

Thornton confirmed that the lake is again open for boat traffic. "As of 10 a.m. today, all recreation at the lake is open to the public," Thornton said. "Some boats were used today to search the water but no divers were in the lake. Minatare Fire and Rescue is in charge of the dive team volunteers. There were no divers today. After today, I can't say."

Unconfirmed reports have stated that Miller was functioning as the flag person for a recreational inner-tube rider being pulled by watercraft at the time of the accident.
