| Kathleen Dunn October 31, 1943 – November 11, 2011 On Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, Kathleen “Kathy” Dunn was called into the waiting arms of the Lord and her family in heaven. Her funeral service will be Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Gering Memorial Chapel with Pastor Michael Stein officiating. Cremation will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Inurnment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Kathy was born Oct. 31, 1943 in Medford, Mass. to James and Margaret (McCusker) Good and moved to the Scottsbluff/Gering area in 1979. Kathy touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with and made many friends while doing things she loved, including working out with her friends at the YMCA’s Silver Sneakers Program. She was an avid traveler (Traveling Granny), some of her favorite places to go were to visit her children in Maryland, Colorado, Tennessee, and Toronto, Ontario. Her most special place to travel to was to Las Vegas, and for the past 31 years, she visited there with her soul mate John. Along with John and Bob, Kathy was co-owner and operator of Casino Motors in Torrington, and affectionately the three of them became known as “The Three Musketeers.” Where there was one, you would find the other two not far behind. As a special gift, she recently was able to receive her dream car (The “famed” Granny Mobile), her zippy, little, turbo-charged new beetle with the caterpillar on the dash board. Kathy was strong in her faith and always spoke with joy in her heart about the day she would be able to walk with the Lord and her loved ones that went before her. Kathy always said, “Live life one slice of pie at a time,” words for everyone to live by. Kathy leaves behind a host of friends and family: the Two Musketeers John and Bob Dunn of Scottsbluff/Gering; son: Chris Brunner (Frank Davis) of Arnold, Md.; Kim Gordon (Lisa Sparks) of Toronto, Ontario; Chrissy (DJ) Hernandez of Lafayette, Colo. and Kerri (Randy) Ritter of Knoxville, Tenn. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Glen, John, Chris, Alicia, Ryan and Jayden; and a host of great grandchildren (with one on the way). She also leaves behind a special best friend: Lois Schroeder of Gering and two furry “monsters” Tanna and Seven. She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Margaret; brother: Kevin; grandson: Byshop Baine Stewart; and great-grandson: Christopher Jordan Valdez Jr. | |
