| Elizabeth Mae Weidenkeller September 27, 1914 – August 21, 2011 Graveside services for Elizabeth Mae (Betty Kisler) Weidenkeller, 97, of San Diego Calif., who died on Aug. 21, 2011, will be held on June 14, 2012 at the Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, Neb. Betty was born on Sept. 27, 1914 in Hastings to John and Katherine (Borgan) Kisler. She received her early education at Lincoln grade school and then at the Lutheran school in Hastings. The Kisler family later moved to McGrew, Neb., where Betty grew up. She married Adam (Acey) Weidenkeller on Sept. 29, 1935 in Hastings. She moved to San Diego, Calif. in 1967, after the death of her husband. She was employed at General Dynamics and later at Clairmont Hospital where she was managed the kitchen until her retirement. A celebration of life will be held at the home of John and Donna Kisler on June 16. Betty's final resting place will be at the base of Chimney Rock. Betty is survived by her children: Jerry (Sylvia) Weidenkeller of Tucson, Ariz., Deanna (Rick) Leonhardt of San Diego, Calif. and Vicky Weidenkeller (Kathy Clewlow) of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren: Kellie (Bill) Christensen and Brian (Antonia) Weidenkeller; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Evan and Jenna; brothers: John (Donna) Kisler of Gering, Dick (Maggie) Kisler of Rupert, Idaho and Willie (JoAnn) Kisler of Lake Minatare, Neb.; sisters: Lucille Rahmig of Jacksonville, Fla., Alma Jo Kalder of Renton, Wash. and Delorse Burkman of Gering. She was preceded in death by her husband: Adam; her parents: John and Katherine Kisler; brothers: Victor and Ozzie; sisters: Florine McEwen and Sussie Kaufman; and several nieces and nephews. | |
