WNCC performances announced
The season is nearly here, and holiday sounds fill the air at Western Nebraska Community College as groups are preparing for their December performances.
On Dec. 4, the WNCC Vocal Music Program invites the public to the Midwest Theater in Scottsbluff for “Carols, Cookies, & Christmas Cheer” at 7:30 p.m. This musical gift to the community will feature the WNCC Collegiate Chorale, under the direction of Rita Stinner, as they perform choral works, carols and seasonal favorites. Admission is free.
“The ‘Carols, Cookies, & Christmas Cheer’ event is our musical gift to the community to thank them for their support,” commented Rita Stinner, WNCC Music Program Director. “I encourage you to bring the entire family and enjoy the evening of friends, great music, and cheer!”
To continue with the season’s spirit, the WNCC Theatre Department will present Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” Sat., Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sun., Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m., at the Midwest Theater. Tickets are $5 at the door, and free admission for veterans, children, and WNCC students and staff with college I.D.
Under the direction of Pat Ennis, the cast includes Byron Allen as Scrooge, Mike Meister as Charles Dickens (narrator), Scott Reisig as Bob Cratchit, Michael Schluter as Fred, Sherri Carlson as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Jason Hagan as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Sean Ennis as the Ghost of Christmas Future.
