| Francisco E. Amaya July 26, 1923 – February 10, 2012 Francisco E. Amaya, 88, of Scottsbluff, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 surrounded by his family. He has entered into the Kingdom of Heaven to join his beloved wife. A Mass of Christian Burial was Feb. 15 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Fr. Phil Flott officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery with military rites by the Nebraska Army National Guard. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Francisco was born July 26, 1923 in Mexico. He came to the United States when was 3 months old. He had a very strong love for God, his family, and his country. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. A soldier in the 5th Army, 15th Regimen, K Company, 3rd Infantry Division, he proudly served his country under General Patton and aside Audie Murphy. He proudly earned his American Citizenship after serving in WWII. He returned to Brownsville, Texas where he met and married Aurora Garcia in 1949. They moved to Scottsbluff in 1963 and made it their home. Francisco was a very hard worker all his life and enjoyed anytime he had to spend with his family. He will be sadly missed by all of us, and we will forever remember him in our hearts. We love you Dad! Survivors include his children: Joe King (Freida) of Colorado, Josie Garza (Jose) of Michigan, Frank Amaya (Toni) of Nebraska, Mary Jane Amaya (Floyd) of Nebraska, Elsie Chavez (John) of Colorado, Stella Campos (Roger) of Wyoming, George Amaya Sr. (Jean) of Arizona, Maria “Lupe” Naye (Gene) of Nebraska, Armando Amaya (Sondra) of Nebraska, and Norma Hernandez (Jesse) of Arizona. He was grandfather to 43 grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. Caregivers: grandson Michael Amaya, grandson Sean Blanco, grandson Steven Blanco, and Krissy Lockman. Francisco was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Aurora; sons: Pablo, Edward, and Emilio; and grandson: Michael Lopez. | |
