| Bertha Irene Staack April 24, 1926 – April 11, 2012 Bertha Irene Staack, 85, of Scottsbluff (whom has been living with her daughter in Lakewood, Colo.) passed away April 11, 2012 at Collier Hospice, in Wheat Ridge, Colo. Funeral services were April 21 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to the Collier Hospice, 3210 Lutheran Parkway, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Bert was born April 24, 1926 in Alliance to Emma (Rohrbauck) and Conrad Sterkel. On May 26, 1950 she married William Staack and together they raised four children. Bert was an avid outdoors person and enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband, Bill. Her joy was gardening: she cared for a beautiful yard of flowers and a large vegetable garden. Bert is survived by one sister: Betty Kehm of Scottsbluff; one brother: Bob Sterkel of Bayard; her sons: Burt Charles (Pam) Staack of Oceanside, Calif., Shawn David (Patti) Staack of Vista, Calif.; twin daughters: Bonnie Sue (John) Valentine of Lakewood, Colo. and Connie Ruth (Joe) Thompson of Pinon Hills, Calif.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Bert in death are her husband, parents and two brothers: Charles and George Sterkel. | |
