| Erwin G. Rosso November 28, 1917 – May 21, 2012 Our beloved husband and father Erwin G. Rosso passed away Monday, May 21, 2012, at Western Nebraska Veteran’s Home at the age of 94. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday, June 1 at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with full military honors provided by the Nebraska Army National Guard. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com Erwin was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Bartlette, Neb. to Louis and Anna (Taddekin) Rosso. He was drafted into the Army April 2, 1942 and landed on Utah Beach in France on June 6, 1944. He retired from the Army after 24 years as a Chief Master Sergeant. He is the recipient of the Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. He served during WW II, Korean War and the Vietnam War. While in Paris, France, Erwin met his wife Marguerite and they were married August of 1946. Erwin was a loving, strong and dependable husband and father. He was loved and will be missed. Survivors include his wife: Marguerite; two sons: Francis of Centennial, Colo. and Marc (Shari) of Lincoln, Neb.; two granddaughters; one grandson; two step-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and sisters: Maxine Thome of Spalding, Neb., Irene Bartak of Phoenix, Ariz. and Nadine Rosso of Potlatch, Idaho. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and two brothers. | |
