| Melvina Kohl December 27, 1950 – June 16, 2012 Melvina Kohl, 61, of Gering passed away at her home June 16, 2012, surrounded by her family. As per Melvina’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held June at the Gering Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. A memorial has been established to the family. Melvina was born Dec. 27, 1950 in Cambridge, Neb. to Allen and Lavonne (Arendell) Frandsen. She received her early education from Indianola Public Schools and graduated from Indianola High School. She married Lonnie Malleck, in McCook and they made their home in McCook. She was blessed with two children. In February of 1997 she married Terry Kohl in Gering and they made their home in Gering. Melvina worked as a bookkeeper at Stanko’s, a machinist at Lockwood, a CNA at Beverly Nursing Center and for the past several years she has worked at WalMart. Melvina is survived by her husband: Terry; daughter: Suzan (Louie) Rodriquez of Gering; son: Doug Malleck of Ventura, Calif.; grandchildren: Keishia, Austin,and Bradyn Malleck ; great-grandchildren: Yazmin Tyrik and Nathan Perez and Fabian Ayala; brothers: Jim (Deb) Cacy of McCook and Sam (Mary) Frandsen of McCook; sister: Connie (Kevin) Zander of Slidell, La.; and special friends: Janet Hackney and Janet Franke. She is preceded in death by her parents. | |
