| Michael J. Mundt January 25, 1948 – July 17, 2012 Michael J. Mundt, 64, died unexpectedly July 17, 2012 in San Diego, Calif. Per Mike’s request, cremation was held in San Diego and no service will be held. He was born Jan. 25, 1948 in Chadron and was welcomed into the loving arms of his parents Kenneth and Claire Conner and brother Kenny. At the age of 4 his father died and at the age of 7 he was again embraced by his new father Elton Mundt. Mike graduated in 1966 from Chadron High School and Marybourough Victoria, Australia High School. He attended Chadron State College where he met his wife Patt. They were later divorced. Mike was a wanderer and lived abroad, Illinois, Florida and finally settled in California where he met his wife and soul mate LaPita. He was welcomed into her family and became a father and grandfather at the same time. He enjoyed immensely the time that he spent with his new family. Mike was a free spirit and loved to travel and always wanted to go back to Australia. He loved his family and will be missed more than he ever thought possible. Until we meet again, rest in peace. He is survived by his brother: Ken (Karen) Conner of Ashville, Ohio; sister: Sharon (Dennis) Gregory, of Gering; nieces and nephews: Brad (Kathy) Conner of Minnesota, Kim (Mike) Sublet of Missouri, Todd (Nora) Conner of Kentucky, Hali Cole of Florida, Devin (Kim) Conner of Ohio, Melinda (Joe) Marcum of Ohio, TJ (Michelle) Conner of New York, Heidi (James) Taylor of Scottsbluff and Sarah (Chad) Weiss of Mitchell. He is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews; aunts: Dona Fleming of Chadron, Dixie Eaton of Whitney, Millie Mundt of Alliance; uncle: Senator LeRoy Louden of Ellsworth; along with numerous cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father, grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. | |
