| Lois Brown McFarland August 13, 1928 – July 26, 2012 Lois Brown McFarland, 83, of Gering, died Thursday, July 26, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Graveside services were July 30 at West Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Bob Haverick officiating. A memorial has been established to the Disabled American Veterans. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com Lois was born Aug. 13, 1928 in Sidney to Glen and Mary (Barkhoff) Wilkins. She moved to Gering in 1936 and married Chet Brown May 29, 1946, who preceded her in death in 1985. She married Charles McFarland in 1988 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Lois retired in 1988 with 25 years in nursing services at Regional West Medical Center. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Mom will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Survivors include her sons: Michael (Jaci) Brown of Westminster, Colo. and Stephen (Jan) Brown of Loveland, Colo.; daughters: Lyn (Robert) Martin of Loveland, Colo. and Holly Brown of Gering; sister: Sharon Lundquist of Scottsbluff; stepsons: Vince, Leonard, Ron and Chuck McFarland; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter: Karen Jo Brown; one sister and four brothers. | |
