Bayard hands Bridgeport 47 to 29 loss

On Friday night, the Bridgeport Bulldogs boys basketball team hosted archrival Bayard. Both teams went into the game 1-1, and the Tigers ended up on the winning end by a score of 47 – 29.

Both teams had trouble finding the net in the first quarter, at the end of which the score was 3-2 in favor of Bridgeport. But a 28 point second quarter by the Tigers, compared to 11 points by the Bulldogs, put Bayard ahead for good.

Spencer Jobman led the Tigers with 14 points, followed by Brandon Stuart with seven, Nate Rice and Mikah Schmall with six each, Ashton Rose with five, Ryan Parriot with three, and Alex Coon and Jacob Fenning with two each.

For Bridgeport, Jaime Gonzales led the way with 15 points, followed by Trevor Blomenkamp with seven, Jaime Galvan with three, and Nick Pappas and Leighton Freeze with two each.

Bridgeport(1-2) 3 11 9 6 - 29
